TO A BIKMO CLAIM THROUGH CARBON BIKE REPAIR

When you contact Bikmo to make a claim, it is helpful to understand what happens next so this page answers those most frequent questions and outlines the processes involved.

Your bicycle is not automatically considered for repair, it must first be evaluated before the claim can proceed.

Claims which qualify for inspection are collected by CBR nationally on behalf of Bikmo. Please ensure all relevant components are included as per the collection request

Carbon Bike Repair Inspection

Upon receipt, an inspection is carried out using carbon specific diagnostics to produce a detailed report that is sent to Bikmo with the results. This step can take 5 working days

Carbon Bike Repair Process

Following Bikmo’s authorisation, any necessary work is processed. Once complete the policy holder and insurer will be informed to arrange the return. This usually takes no more than 3 weeks.

Your claim will be assessed using the most advanced technologies and experienced carbon engineers to ensure all reporting is accurate.

CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE REPAIR AND RESPRAY PROCESS?

ALL BIKES HAVE CHARACTERISTICS AND STRUCTURAL DNA WHICH ARE ANALYSED BEFORE WE PROCEED WITH ANY STRUCTURAL REPAIR.

CBR utilises a process called ‘carbon re-constitution’ which is the basis of the manufacturing process used in repairing structural damage to ensure ride and weight characteristics are maintained.

Colour matching is processed using manufacturer colours. Depending on the degree of weathering we have to colour match by eye to conform to the changes in some cases. All affected graphics and artworks are replaced to manufacturer standard.

Once the restoration is complete and inspected, the bike is as good as new. That is why we are able to warranty the work.

WARRANTY EXPLAINED

IN MOST INSTANCES, MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY WILL FALL AWAY FROM THE FRAME IF IT HASW BEEN INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT. WE THEN STEP IN WITH OUR LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR

There are many instances where bicycles that have been involved in an incident and seem damaged, are not, and vice versa. If we repair it is because it is safe to do so, and because we can then apply our lifetime warranty on most repairs and one year for paintwork*.

MANUFACTURER WARRANTY
Generally, bicycle warranties are similar across the brands and once it is involved in an incident, or has had transferred ownership, the original warranty is void. The inspection process will highlight any incident related damage, and if manufacturing flaws are present then these will be flagged in the report.
