There are many other damage points not represented on this diagram so don’t worry if yours is not here. It is only a guide and will assist you in identifying the parts of your bike.
This frame shows that fractures can be safely repaired and restored to new again (see 1-4). Our owner lifetime warranty is often more comprehensive than some manufacturer warranties on new frames.
PAINT FINISHES
70% of our customers opt for a factory finish to their repaired frame / carbon component. This is something we are credited for in the cycling world.
We offer two options:
NO PAINT
To keep costs down you can opt for a no paint option. The carbon repair will be visible.
PAINT RESTORATION
The graphics and paintwork are replicated and replaced to factory finish, where possible. Any sign of the repair is ‘removed’. This includes official logos, decals, colour matching* and blending.
*We colour match as close as possible to the manufacturers specification and the age of the bike.

If we repair, it is because it is safe to do so. Safety is determined through technology and training. CBR is the most widely used repair service in the UK. REPAIR QUESTIONS
Is my bike worth repairing?
That depends on the value of a replacement frame. A qualified repair is largely undetectable, so if you love your bike then there is no replacement value. A well-executed repair will bring it back to exactly how it was before.
Our advice is get a quote before you do anything.
Will my repair be safe?
The repairs are made to the specification of the component. Only qualified technicians should repair your bike. Unless otherwise stated, our repairs have an owner lifetime warranty and a one year warranty for the paint work.

Why is repair so expensive?
We would disagree!
A repaired warrantied frame is roughly less then half the cost of a mid-priced replacement frame. If you are looking for the cheapest repair quote, then this is one area you should not compromise your safety on. If you think it is too expensive, please ask us to explain.
How long does it take to repair?
The repair itself can take a day. However it is the whole process, such as curing times, profiling, quality control which needs to be taken into consideration. Some repairs can take a few days if additional processes are required to achieve the specifi cations to pass QC. Unfortunately, it takes longer in practice when we are in demand. Safety first as always.
What parts do you not repair?
In most cases, we can repair about 90% of a carbon bicycle safely.
There are occasions where some bicycles are blacklisted due to inherent design flaws. Due to comparative costs, it is better to replace some components than attempt to repair them. CBR inspects each component before we decide to repair or replace.
Can you repair carbon wheels safely?
That depends on the value of a replacement wheel. That should be your first option.
Wheels are more complex and dangerous than frames when they fail. The tensions are great so a cautious review is undertaken before advising on a repair. Some wheels are very expensive to replace and in some cases are easy enough to repair. Others can be to risky to attempt a repair.
Your safety is always our top priority.
Can you repair carbon dropouts?
Yes we can!
Carbon dropouts are made with specific carbon fibre. The repair undertaken requires the correct tensile carbon otherwise it will not hold the rigours or gear shifting or derailleur removal. We cannot weld alloy dropouts in carbon frames.
Can you repair seat posts?
It depends where the issue is. Always ask regarding your specific issue.
RESTORATION QUESTIONS
How close can you get the restored part to the original?
Restoring bicycle paintwork is not like the auto industry where paint codes and suppliers are known. Even if paint codes are known, no two paints when mixed are exactly the same.
We colour match by eye and it depends on a number of factors:
- Type of paints and lacquers used previously
- Paint effects (gloss, matt, pearlescent, candy colours, metal flakes, glitter etc)
- Age of the bike
- UV exposure
Our QC policy is 95% – 98% unless we stipulate beforehand that designs or paintwork are simply not replicable.
In most cases, our restorations range between 98% – 100%. All artworks are original or precise replications which we create in-house. We have 30 years combined experience in the spray team. CBR’s reputation attracts clients and top race teams from all over the world.
How much does it cost to restore my bike after the repair?
Prices start at £96 (incl vat). Fill in our ‘Request a Quote’ form and we can assess your requirement. The cost depends on the complexity of the area restored, number of colours and graphics, if any.
Once inspected, you will be notified before work commences. You can always opt for the cheaper finish and return at a later date if you wish.
Do your restorations have a warranty?
All our paint restorations have a one year warranty. Please contact us for full details.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
If I want to sell my bike what do I tell the buyer?
The buyer is free to contact CBR to ascertain the origins of the repair with your permission.
At CBR, our repairs, unless stated, have an owner limited lifetime warranty and our paintwork has a one year warranty. Please contact us for full warranty terms and conditions.
If I am driving, how can I find your premises?
It can be difficult to find us. If you would like to use What 3 Words our words are:

Take the turn off for Alsford Timber and the D&T Car Wash. Access to the premises is to the right of the car wash entrance. This road takes you under the bridge. As you go under the bridge turn right and park outside of Unit 1A.
Please only park in bays marked ‘CBR’.
Is there public transport nearby?
Leatherhead train station is a short distance away and there are numerous bus stops nearby.
By Train
Leatherhead train station is only 50min from either London Waterloo or London Victoria train station.
We are a short walk from the station, approx 12-15 minutes. When you get to the Majestic’s roundabout, take the first exit and remain on the left. You will see Key Drive Car and Van Rental and Alsford Timber, take this road and walk down to the D&T Car Wash. To the right of the car wash is the road which will take you to the Bridge Works Industrial Park. Please follow any ‘CBR’ signs.
Preparing your frame for us
Here are some helpful tips on how your frame / carbon component should be prepared prior to us receiving it.
Please note your bicycle needs to be fully stripped prior to dispatch / delivery to CBR. We only need your frame / carbon component.
Please download, complete and attach the following booking in form to your frame.
Upon receipt of your frame / carbon component, we will send you a work ticket.
We schedule our work queues on your authorisation of this ticket.
Due to the nature of the work, we are unable to book repairs in advance. We work on a ‘first come first served basis’ – from us receiving you bike.
Best to get it to us as soon as possible.
BEFORE SHIPMENT OR DROP OFF
We require stripped, clean frames for inspections and repair. If you are unable to fully strip your bike, your local bike shop should be able to assist you.
Please clean the part(s) as much as possible. Any bike sent to us in an unacceptably dirty condition will need to be washed at a charge of £24 (incl vat).
If the damage is around the seat tube or seat clamp area, please include the seat post and seat clamp when sending the frame.
If your dropout is damaged, please make sure you send in your hanger.

SHIPPING YOUR FRAME
Please place it in a suitable padded box to minimise damage and for re-posting. We like to send it back in your box to minimise packaging costs so make sure the box is going to last 2 trips.
Please label your box with return details. We will arrange a suitable courier and contact you before returning.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
If you are shipping an item to us from outside the UK, please contact us before shipping anything!
You will need to complete the customs documentation and mark the item as “Temporary Export (Repair and Return)”. This is very important as it will show HM Customs and Excise that the item is not remaining in the UK.
Also please contact us for our EORI number which can be added to the customs documents and might assist with quicker processing.
Do not forget to include a Commercial Invoice. The value you enter here on the customs forms will affect the amount HM Customs and Excise charge in relation to import duties. This could be between 26-30% of the value. If we are charged any import duties or disbursements these will be charged onto you, unless we are able to get them re-imbursed. We reserve the right to charge an admin fee for any extra administration we undertake into clearing and re-exporting your item to you.

I spoke to Martin regarding a small bit of work that needed doing on my carbon frame. He was very responsive via email and very accommodating to my (sort of strange) request. I was able to pop down to the workshop for the work to be done 24 hours later. Thank you Carbon Bike Repair, having to deal with the injuries caused by malfunctioning carbon seat post failure broken back in two places. I had to battle over the poorly manufactured seat post with inadequate “glue” holding seat into carbon post. Had approached few shops, local bike shops / specialist companies. To my surprise some did not want to get involved with the mightiness of such a company like #$+•^. Highly recommend these guys for any carbon repair. I found what looked like a fracture on my frame, which CBR quickly confirmed after I sent them a few photos. Great service from start to finish, very personal service, they really care. Great experience. After a bike crash i thought my nearly new Specialized Aethos frame was toast but Carbon Bike Repair were excellent. Dropped it off and they said they could fix it and took me through the options. Just 2 weeks later the frame was ready to collect and despite not choosing the paint match option you couldn't tell the repair on the carbon finish. They even called me back the next day because they had not added the initial deposit to my balance so gave me a refund. Friendly service and great to have the bike back again.

CBR carried out a fantastic repair on some carbon chain suck and also damage. The paint repair is brilliant and you can’t tell it was repaired. Kamil stripped and rebuilt my bike for me for the work to be carried out and he is a superb mechanic with some useful comments about maintaining the bike in the future. I would highly recommend CBR (and Kamil) if you need a carbon repair carried out to the highest of standards. They also stuck to the timescale quoted in the estimate which is impressive considering how busy they are.
